Laura and Rory’s homebirth can be summed up in one word. Awesome. They worked so hard and had such a long journey to get there. And when the day finally came, everything was just as they had hoped it would be.
Laura’s labor was a little indecisive at first, with several false alarms. Her blood pressure was showing signs of getting too high, so we were all very glad when after a long night of early labor, her water broke in the early morning hours and things really started moving.
I arrived at her house around 7:00 am and most of the birth team was there. Laura and Rory were working together very well, with the help of their amazing doula, Erica. Laura also had her good family friend, mother, and sister there for support. There was no shortage of hands!
Laura was a rockstar throughout labor and delivered her baby that morning at 8:55am. It was wonderful to see Laura and Rory welcome beautiful little Ariella into their family. Thank you so much for allowing me the privilege of being there, guys! Congratulations on your perfect little girl.
Even though I was working with very little light at this birth (hence the grain), I absolutely adore this slideshow. My first ever in color! Enjoy! 🙂
